Got the computer fixed so now I can blog again!

Ok, sorry about the time between posts but the computer died and I can't blog on my phone...but anyway, computer's fixed so now I can update ya'll...

"Journey" update: To date, I'm down a total of 21 pounds! Still very slow going, but at least it is going down and not up (most of the time, but I do fluctuate...A LOT). My workout has changed again too...I now go to the gym twice a day (during the week). I still go every morning and about 2 or 3 weeks ago I started going back after work. Mace(Mossy) has had to stop training due to some family issues and my friend Amanda who I normally workout with has had to take a break due to medical issues...so I've went back to doing Spin class...it's kickin my ass again, but I can actually still do it! I was a little worried since I've taken such a long break from it. So, I do Spin class on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and there's an hour long class on Tuesday evenings. I cardio on Thursday evenings, and weights on the opposite times (Mon, Wed, Fri evenings; Tue Thurs mornings). Weekends are a mix of cardio and weights. I found a picture on my work computer from about 2 years ago...I finally can see a difference! That picture was HORRIBLE! I thought I had it on my Facebook page but I don't, and it's not on this computer...I'll post it later, maybe...I'm telling you, it's BAD!!!

David update: His surgery is finally scheduled!!! December 6th at 7:00am. Dr. Mickey from UT Southwest will be doing the surgery at UT Southwest - Zale Lipshy in Dallas. We have to go up there on Friday for pre-surgery blood work, then we'll go back up Sunday night so we don't have to drive up there so blasted early on Monday morning. Both mom's are planning on being here for the surgery too. David's getting nervous about the surgery now that the date is set. I haven't started to get nervous yet, but I'm sure come Sunday night/Monday morning...There's not a whole lot more to report on that, but I will definitely update Facebook whenever there's something to update!

Nearly 4 months later...

Okay...I was called out for not blogging...so here it goes! Be prepared, this will be a long one!

So, where to start...Most of ya'll know from Facebook, but I joined Gold's Gym. I started by going to "RPM" which is a spin class. It totally kicked my ass every time! It was a good workout! I loved it! I went every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and went and did "my own thing" (mainly treadmill and some ab work) on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. After a month or so of that type of working out I started working with a friends trainer in his "class" on Tuesday and Thursday...which led to working with them all the time and not going to spin class anymore. I just felt like I was getting a better workout with Mace (pronounced Mossy) and the other girls. He does circuit-type training, we do cardio, abs, weights, aerobics and any other "ass-kicking" workouts he can think of. It's an awesome workout every time...even if I cuss Mace out every time! He likes to push us to the limit, and maybe a little bit further...and it's AWESOME!!!! I might go back to spin once in a while, but not all the time. As of this morning I have lost 19lbs since the end of July. I would like for that number to be higher, but I have lost one dress size, so that's good! It feels good to have to pull my pants up all day long! LOL Also, I fit into a pair of jeans I haven't worn in about 4 or 5 years! So all in all the "Journey" is going good...even though I want it to be better!

Next update is a lot more serious...and if you've been on Facebook you probably know about this as well. David was diagnosed with a brain tumor on Friday. It all started with a headache that wouldn't go away on Friday afternoon. By the time I got off work at 6:00 Friday evening the headache had gotten so bad he was nauseated and dizzy. We had errands to run Friday, David thought he should go to the E.R. so he told me to drop him off at the hospital and go run the errands and then come back up there; so that's what I did. When I got back up to the E.R. they had already done a CT Scan. Shortly after I got back the doctor came in and said "we saw a spot on the CT Scan, but they aren't the best to see things on the brain so we need to get an MRI" then he left the room. No further explanation than that! I was pretty nervous after this, so when they took him up for the MRI I promptly went outside for a cigarette (no lectures, please) and a phone call to Mom...both of those are the way to calm my nerves! After a small breakdown and Mom convincing me I need to call a friend to come sit with me I called Amanda. She came up to the hospital, which definitely helped since by the time David got back from the MRI he was full of pain meds and so tired that he couldn't keep his eyes open! The MRI took 2 hours! I later found out it took that long because he was in so much pain they had to stop the scan and give him more meds. Once he got back, the doc finally came in (about an hour later) and told us that there was a mass in his brain. He reassured us that it was a small slow growing tumor and by the looks of it, it was very treatable and set us up with Dr. Steven Zilienski a neurologist here in Waco. Finally at 2:30 in the morning, we went home. Monday morning we went to see Dr. Z and he helped us understand everything a little better. We got to see the actual images from the MRI. He kept referring to the tumor as small, but when we saw the pictures, it looked huge to me! It's about the size of an acorn, I think, that's what it seemed like, it might not be that big, I've never looked at MRI images before, so it might "appear larger than actual size" or something like that! Anyway, Dr. Z said by looking at the images, he is 90% sure that it's not cancer, just a "fatty cell tumor". He said it's a super slow growing tumor and he's had it for years, it's just grown enough that it's putting pressure on the cerebellum (sp?) and brain stem which is causing the headaches. Dr. Z said it does need to be taken out ASAP to prevent any further problems. He is sending us to UT Southwest in Dallas for the surgery, since Waco doesn't have facilities to accommodate brain surgery; which is fine by me, I don't know that I trust the hospitals in Waco enough! The worst part of the appointment on Monday was the fact that David can't work until after the surgery and recovery. My biggest stress right now is financial. Luckily, David has Short Term Disability at work, so even though he's not working we wont be totally out of his paycheck.

Hopefully we'll find out tomorrow when the consultation at UT Southwest is. I will update everyone as soon as we find out. Right now we need lots and lots of prayers, for his health, both or our sanity, and for the doctors who'll be working with him. I definitely believe in the power of prayer, I've seen it work too many times...We have a lot of prayer warriors out there in our corner, but we can always use more!!!

I warned you this would be a long post...Love to all!!!

Bad Meagan...Bad, Bad Meagan

Ok...so I suck! I totally "fell off the wagon". I haven't been "dieting" at all since my last post! That is until today. I'm starting over. New starting weight...286.4, which is still down from my original starting weight!!! LOL

I think I figured out a way to make sure I walk at least 3 times a week...I woke up this morning at 6 and was out the door walking by 6:30. It was nice out this morning, even though it was muggy as heck, it wasn't blistering hot. I WILL walk at least 3 times a week, but to be honest I'm shooting for everyday Monday thru Friday!

Wish me luck and pray for me...I need all of both I can get!!!

Before I Get in Trouble...

I figured it was getting to be a little bit too long between posts and thought I should post something before Miranda starts bugging me!!! (Love ya sis!)

I don't have too much to post actually...I've kinda fallen off the "change" wagon. I haven't been doing good at all. I stopped counting points last week, and went back to my old eating habits. I'm starting up again now though...I guess I just got lazy. I'm going walking tonight and I'm getting strict again...no more crap food!

My car started making a horrible screeching noise last week (or i guess it could have been the week before). My friends husband took a look at it and said it was the Idler Tensioner Pulley (or something like that). It basically puts tension on the belt that runs the alternator and the power steering pump. The bearing in mine went out, so the pulley was off kilter and started eating up the belt. Needless to say, I stopped driving my car and prayed that I would be able to get someone to come fix it this weekend. A friend from church, Greg, came by this afternoon and had it fixed in no time!!! It only cost me $40 for the parts, but I feel bad that I couldn't give him anything for coming out to help...hopefully he'll go to lunch with everyone tomorrow after church and I can at least buy his lunch!

Softball started up this week! Well, the pre-season placement tournaments were this week, but since we turned in our registration late we're not in the tournament...so we'll start playing in 2 weeks or so.

I guess that's about all that's going on in my world right now...

long time, no blog...sorry

Well, let me start out by apologizing. My laptop recently died, and I HATE our desktop computer (its ancient and SUPER slow) so I haven't been online in a loooooooooong time, so that means no Facebooking or blogging...again, my apologies!

I do have 2 peices of AWESOME news...

First...wait for it...I'M DOWN 8 POUNDS!!! Ok, so it's not record-breaking or anything, but I couldn't be happier. It's been what, three weeks? I think that's pretty awesome considering I haven't been sticking to the "change" near like I wanted to. I do darn good...most of the time, but when I "cheat" I cheat too much! Oh well, it's whatever...I'm doing really good about watching my salt intake, and I haven't had a "real" soda since I started all of this (and only a couple of diets) mainly water and tea (and mostly unsweet tea, which everyone can attest is a HUGE deal for me!) I eat a lot more veggies now too, which is good in an of itself. I actually noticed a little bit of a difference in the way the pants I wore today fit!!

Ok, second, I had a jewelry show this weekend at a local Renissance Faire. We've had a booth at this fair for the last couple of years and this last weekend was the best weekend we've had! Our sales were pretty awesome! But that's not the best part...the owner of the Faire asked us to sign a contract to come back for every Faire they have for the next 5 years!!!! He's also building us a "shoppe" which will be constructed how WE want it done! It's going to be awesome! We'll have a building to help keep us out of the sun and the rain! I'm so super excited...I can't wait till everything is done, we should have it all ready to go by the next Faire which is in September!!! I can't wait!

I have a new neice as of May 4, 2010...Amy (David's sister) gave birth to Sophie Elizabeth Grace Miller on Tuesday. She's a cutie-pie with a head FULL of black hair! I can't wait to officially meet her in June.

My mom and sis are coming to visit next weekend and I CAN'T WAIT!!!! I miss them both to peices! Plus, of course they are bringing the most handsome little boy with them too! I can't wait to see how much Nathan has grown up since I saw him at Christmas!

Well, I guess that's really all that's going on in my corner of the world right now...I'll try not to wait so long to post again...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!

10 Years...really!?!?!

Today is my 10 year wedding anniversary. It doesn't seem like it's been that long! (most of the time...sometimes it feels longer! LOL) Love you hunny!!! We went to La Fiesta (a Mexican resturant for those of you who don't know) and ate out on the patio while enjoying some good music played by a friend of ours. I'm proud of myself for my dinner choice too...I had Pollo Con Queso (with the queso on the side), basically it was a peice of grilled chicken on a bed of rice. I ate some chips and salsa, the chicken with very little queso, an not even half of the rice and beans!!! Normally, I would have eaten everything on my plate! The meal even comes with tortillas...and I didn't eat ANY!!!!!!!!

Joy, my diet buddy at work told me today that she's really proud of me. She's done the Weight Watchers Point thing for over a year and lost nearly 70 lbs. She said she can see how determined I am! I've made myself a spreadsheet that I use to keep track of everything I eat and the points. It's also tracking my weight. One of these days I might post it for ya'll to see...if you want me too. I have to say...overall, I'm proud of myself too! I'm doing better at making smarter choices at resturants...which has always been the most difficult part for me. I even had Taco Bell for lunch the other day (thanks to Natalie forcing me to eat something besides my normal lunch of tuna and crackers) and I ordered off the Fresco Menu (at the suggestion of my sister!)...it was actually good! I couldn't wrap my head around the thought of Mexican food without cheese...but it was good! It was 13 points, which is a little high for lunch...I had 1 burrito and 2 tacos, the burrito was 7 points, so next time I'll stick with just 3 tacos (9 points total)!

I had been slacking a bit on the "exercising" part of this journey...but tonight I started up again. I went for a 30 minute walk around the complex again. The weather was georgous tonight! I'm planning on going again Friday...maybe even tomrrow...I don't know that I'll be up to going EVERY night, but I will do my best to go at least 3 times a week from now on! It's good "me time" too, I just turn on the Ipod and take off!

I have people telling me to weigh daily, and people telling me not to. I like to weigh daily because I can see that even if I don't loose that much as a total weekly loss, I can see the lowest point I was in the week (ya know what I mean?). I forgot to weigh this morning though, but yesterday I was down another 1/2 pound! Hopefully after my "workout" tonight I will see it drop again in the morning. I'm gonna do my best to not let it get me down again if it doesn't!

Sad day...softball is over (for a couple of weeks)

So tonight was sad...we played our last game of the Spring Session. We lost, but the team we played is completely undefeted, I think we have 2nd place for the season, but it might be 3rd...I'll find out for sure in a couple of days. Summer 1 session starts soon...I can't wait! I hate not having games to go to...I'd say not playing, but to be honest I coach more than I play! We have some kick-ass players so it's better for the team if I let them play and I coach!!

My official weight-loss for Week One was 2 lbs...I would have liked for it to be more than that, but at least it's a loss and not a gain!

Not much to post tonight, so...goodnight!
